I've seen more and more merchants turning to ebay - for clearance and end of lines especially. It makes sense as people looking for a bargain will always check out ebay as well as proper shops. The ebay angle also works the other way - if you've got a presence on ebay and then people see you've got a real website then they'll shop through that too.
